Role of assistant pharmacist in dispensing phosphate enema:
1. this prescription is used for external use only (introduced into rectum for cleansing or diagnostic purpose).
2. It should not be used in case of hyperphosphatemia or sever bowel problems.
3. Sodium phosphate enema should not be used in children younger than 2 years old.
4. This enema may cause diarrhea, gas, nausea or stomach cramps.
5. Stop using sodium phosphate enema and contact your physician if you have rectal bleeding or fail to have a bowel movement after using the enema.
