Role of assistant pharmacist in dispensing chloropromazine hydrochloride syrup:
1. The dose is only one teaspoonful to be taken at bed time.
2. After taking the dose, do not drive or working with sharp machines.
3. Chloropromazine hydrochloride syrup is use mainly as sedative, antiemetic, antipruritic and as weak antihistaminic.
4. It is contraindication in patients suffering from diabetes mellitus.
5. Keep away from children.
6. The preparation should be stored in airtight containers and protected from light.
7. If the preparation is intended for long term use, an antioxidant should be added.
